Free COVID-19 testing now available to the public in Walker County

If you have the following symptoms related to COVID-19 that are pictured below, your first call should be to your primary care physician. Do NOT visit in person without calling first.

Symptoms

Additional symptoms can include chills, shaking, fatigue, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.

There are 189 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Walker County (44 from antibody testing) with 5 hospitalizations.  NHC Healthcare in Rossville accounts for 56 of the positive cases. 38 patients and 18 employees have tested positive as of Friday, June 5th.

Walker County to Make Several Operational Changes in June – the Commissioner’s Office, both Tax Commissioner Offices, Mountain Cove Farms Resort and the Walker County Extension Office all reopened to the public this morning.
