I understand that pursuant to O.C.G.A. 50-18-71, I may be charged administrative and copying fees for the cost to search, retrieve, copy and supervise access to the requested documents. This fee represents the hourly rate of the lowest paid full-time employee with the necessary skill and training to respond to my request, with no charge for the first 15 minutes to respond to my request. The charge for hard copies is generally $0.10 per page unless otherwise provided by law. I agree to pay all copying and/or administrative costs incurred with fulfilling my records request.*

Walker County will respond to you within three business days of your request for records. If the records cannot be produced within three business days, a timetable for their release will be provided to me.

Marriage and Divorce records can be obtained through the Walker County Probate Court office on the bottom floor of the Courthouse, 103 South Duke Street, LaFayette. You can order a copy of a Marriage license online by clicking this link. If you have additional questions, call their office at 706.638.2852.

Birth and Death Records are at Georgia Department of Public Health’s Northwest District in Walker County. Their number is 706-638-5577. They are located at 603 East Villanow Street in LaFayette.

Property tax and Assessment information can be searched directly online at walkercountytax.com for tax information and www.qpublic.net/ga/walker for the Board of Assessors.

Deeds, titles and other legal property documents are recorded with the Clerk of Courts, located in the Courthouse, 103 South Duke Street, LaFayette or 706.638.1742.
