VIDEO PRODUCTION INTERN (opened 3/1/19)
Specific duties of this paid internship relate to the creation of video content for a new online program tentatively titled The Walker Buzz, featuring community news, interviews and information important to residents of Walker County. Applicant must be an undergraduate student, graduate student or recent college graduate. High school students and recent high school graduates who have not yet started college are not eligible for this position.
LEGAL & PUBLIC POLICY INTERN (opened 3/1/19)
Learn the mechanics of local government and practical relationships between Constitutional Officers in Georgia County Government and get paid doing it. Duties of this internship will be similar to the administrative practices of a small law firm. Applicant must be an undergraduate student, graduate student or recent college graduate. High school students and recent high school graduates who have not yet started college are not eligible for this position.
ASSISTANT CHIEF OF WALKER COUNTY POLICE (opened 12/17/18)
Walker County is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Chief of Walker County Police. The person hired for this position will be responsible for evaluating property against county ordinances, advising owners on corrective actions and issuing citations, among other duties.
CODES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER:
The Codes Enforcement Officer is responsible for identifying code and ordinance violations, issuing citations with descriptions of corrective action of the violations and following up on citations to ensure all offenses have been corrected and the property is within the county codes and ordinances.
The Building Inspector is responsible for inspecting and documenting all aspects of building construction, including plumbing, electrical, footings, rough ins and final inspections on new and remodeled construction. The person holding this position also works with the public and contractors to ensure all construction meets local and national building codes and ordinances through all phases of construction.
TRANSIT DRIVER: (Part-Time)
This position operates a gas or diesel 14 passenger transit van on routes for the transit department, providing excellent customer service to the passengers served by the department.
