LaFayette, GA (November 13, 2025) – Pilgrim’s, one of the world’s leading food companies, broke ground today on its new prepared foods facility in Walker County.
The new facility, which is scheduled to open in early 2027, will support more than 630 new jobs at full capacity. It will be located on a 100-acre site just north of Audia Plastics in the Walker County Business Park off Highway 27 near LaFayette.
A variety of fully cooked chicken products, like chicken nuggets and lightly breaded chicken breast strips, will be produced at this location to support the growth of Pilgrim’s fast-growing prepared foods business. Products will be sold at groceries and wholesale clubs under familiar names like Just Bare and Pilgrim’s.
“We want to be a true community partner,” said Fabio Sandri, Pilgrim’s CEO. “As part of our efforts, we’re excited to announce we’re working with the local community on a Hometown Strong Project. It’s something that is near and dear to our hearts, because we are part of the community.”
Hometown Strong Projects target a specific need in the community, like a library, food bank or splash pad. “We want to create not only a better future for our team members, but also for the community,” Sandri added. Walker County’s project remains in development and will be announced at a later date.
