The Governing Authority of Walker County, Georgia proposes to amend the county code of ordinances. O-05-20 would adopt the State of Georgia’s fireworks permitting regulations by reference.

A public hearing on O-05-20 will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Walker County Courthouse Annex III, 201 S Main Street in LaFayette, GA.

Walker County, GA is under a local state of emergency, effective March 18, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many local government operations have been impacted. Visit our COVID-19 page for a list of “confirmed” cases in Walker County and the state of Georgia.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s Public Health State of Emergency remains in effect until November 30, 2020. In addition, a statewide Judicial State of Emergency remains in effect until December 9, 2020, which places a prohibition on jury trials and most grand jury proceedings.
