Shelter staff are trained on the Rehome program and can help walk you through the process of listing your animal. If you successfully rehome your pet through our portal, the rehoming fee is donated to the shelter!

Complete the Adoption Contract & Application online. Appointments are ONLY scheduled after the contract & application has been submitted and approved.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: In order to lessen the burden on taxpayers, WCAS has an established price list for animal surrenders, owner reclaims and adoptions. These fees cover some of the expenses (deworming, heartworm test, flea treatment) incurred while caring for companion pets, and in many cases can be avoided through responsible pet ownership.
Fee list (per animal) effective June 1, 2025:
- Adoption – $50 (dogs & cats)
- Adoption – $75 (puppies & kittens)
- Adoption – $25 (other animals)
- Microchipping – $10
- Owner surrenders – $25
- Owner reclaim – $25 (for first impoundment)
- Boarding – $10 (per day)
- Bite quarantine boarding – $15 (per day; additional feeds may apply if other services are offered, such as spay/neuter or vet bills if the animal was injured)
Discounts effective June 1, 2025:

- Defender Discount – $35 off adoptions for Active Duty Military, Veterans and First Responders
- Golden Years Savings – $35 off adoptions for seniors
NOTE: Additional fees may apply based on cost of care. Ask prior to receiving services.
*All dogs and cats adopted from WCAS are spayed/neutered and vaccinated for rabies at no additional charge
