Weapons permit applications will not be accepted until May 14th, 2020 and will be by appointment only, if the Emergency Order by Judge Melton is lifted.  Please make sure you call the Probate Court at 706-638-2852  to make an appointment for any and all filings.  No walk-ins will be allowed.

Walker County Probate Court handles matters relating to family, among other functions. The court issues marriage and weapons carry licenses, appoints and oversees guardians and conservators, and administers wills and estates.

In the near future, you will be able to apply for a marriage license and weapons carry permit online. You will still need to come to the office to sign the documentation, but that can be done at your convenience.

You only need to know the date of the marriage and the groom’s first and last name to get started. The cost is $14 and can be paid for using a Visa or Mastercard.
