Emergency Management:

Employees at 911 centerThe Emergency Management team works to keep you safe during times of disaster or distress. Our Emergency Operations Center provides a centralized location for county and city services to coordinate operations during potential events.

Emergency Management also coordinates the opening of shelters with CERT and sends out alerts on our SirenGPS Community Alert System. Those interested must subscribe to this free service in order to receive community and weather related alerts. You can register online or download the mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple iTunes Store.

Emergency storm shelter locations include:

  • Walker County Civic Center (pre & post storm)
  • West Armuchee Community Center (pre & post storm)
  • Cedar Grove Community Center (pre & post storm)
  • Walker County Ag Center (post storm)
  • Local churches

E-911:

Walker County 911 CenterOur E-911 Communications Officers serve on the front lines during times of need.

They work tirelessly to dispatch emergency services on wrecks, fires, medical calls and criminal investigations, among other needs.

If you have a non-emergency, like a power outage, stray animal or need to know where to pay a ticket, call the automated attendant at 706-375-7810 for a directory of commonly requested numbers.
