Walker Rocks Park (now open)
The playground at Walker Rocks Park features nearly two dozen different components, providing children with a high-quality outdoor recreational environment to encourage community health and wellness. These playground activities support the physical, social-emotional, sensory, cognitive, and communicative needs of all children, including those with disabilities
Along with traditional playground components like slides and rockers, several climbing features were integrated in the design to complement Walker County’s outdoor recreational attractions, like Rocktown. The playground also includes a poured in place rubberized service and ramps with barriers to enhance accessibility.

Several new features were added in the summer of 2025. They include a variety of swings, a zip track, an inclusive carousel, a four 4 all rocker, a swirl, a sensory station, two sensory totems and a sensory summit roundabout, which provides a unique climbing experience for children of all abilities. The climber features a wide basin with defined grips to allow children with limited use of their legs to participate in a climbing activity.
A communication board and a solar powered charging station were also added in 2025.
Four pickleball courts at the park opened April 3, 2026.

A gravel walking trail is also on this park site. The trail will be resurfaced with asphalt in Spring/Summer 2026.
Adventure Acres (now open)
This park, located at 370 Salem Road in Rossville, features a treehouse themed playground, splash pad, pavilion with restrooms, quarter mile walking trail, a solar powered charging station and green space for picnics, frisbee and other non-organized recreation.
This space was built to standout and serve as a true landmark for our community. From its distinctive design and multi-generational appeal, an attention to detail was planned in every aspect of this attraction. It’s a unique space that reflects the character of Walker County and integrates nature with recreation.
