Mental Health Court Case Manager (opened 12/4/23)
This position will work directly with at-risk participants to assist with life skills.
REAL ESTATE RECORDING CLERK (opened 11/17/23)
This position performs clerical and customer service duties in support of the work of the Clerk of Superior Court, including things like entering data and scans of legal documents and receiving money for filings, fees, and costs.
CIVIC CENTER CUSTODIAN AND MAINTENANCE (reopened 10/30/23)
This position is responsible for cleaning the facilities, including but not limited to the high-touch surfaces, removing debris, keeping areas neat and tidy in county buildings, as well as vacuuming and buffing floors, shampooing carpets, emptying trash receptacles, replacing the lining of trash cans and sanitizing the buildings after public use. This team member also helps manage the outdoor landscaping, as well as the care and maintenance of the walking track, pavilion, dog park, and playground. Minor facility repairs and maintenance are also required.
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY NURSE (opened 9/1/23)
This position is responsible for providing medical care, assessment, and management of general medical-related services provided at our correctional facility; as well as, assist with maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.
KENNEL TECH I (opened 8/14/23)
This position begins with basic duties such sorting, cleaning and assisting with animals. This is an entry level, hourly position, but is full-time with benefits.
We are looking for someone who will be able to grow in the job, developing competencies and responsibilities. This position does require working closely with a variety of animals who have assorted temperaments and in changing environments. Some weekend work will be required.
GENERAL LABORER (opened 6/16/23)
This is an entry level position that provides manual labor support to team members of the Public Works Department. The General Laborer’s work schedule is 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, but is required to report for inclement weather and other emergencies on occasion that could be outside of the normal work schedule.
CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (opened 5/9/23)
The Codes Enforcement Officer is responsible for identifying code and ordinance violations, issuing citations with descriptions of corrective action of the violations and following up on citations to ensure all offenses have been corrected and the property is within the county codes and ordinances.
E-911 COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER – DISPATCHER (opened 5/4/23)
Applicant must be able to receive and interpret information through telecommunications equipment, and verbally and accurately dispatch that information in a timely manner to the proper authority.
TRANSIT DRIVER – Full and Part-time available (opened 5/4/23)
This position operates a non-CDL 10 passenger transit van on routes for the Transit department, providing excellent customer service to passengers. A thorough knowledge and compliance with all federal, state, city and county safety regulations and policies is mandatory. This position will also perform a number of skilled and unskilled tasks in the custodial care of the buses.
- SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER: This officer must be a Georgia State Mandated Officer in good standing. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Court Services Commander. Pay will depend on experience. Application may be filled out at www.walkerso.com. (opened 1/31/23)
- TRANSPORT OFFICER: The Court Services Division currently has an opening for a certified person with the main responsibilities of transporting inmates. The work hours are generally Monday through Friday 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Long transports out of state may require longer hours. This officer must be a Georgia State Mandated Officer in good standing. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Court Services Commander. Pay will depend on experience. WALKER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE: DETENTION OFFICER
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office regularly accepts applications for the Detention Officer position.
