CIVIC CENTER CUSTODIAN (opened 10/12/22)
This position is responsible for cleaning buildings and high touch surfaces, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy in county buildings, as well as vacuuming and buffing floors, shampooing carpets, emptying trash receptacles, replacing the lining of trash cans and fogging buildings on the Civic Center Campus.


SERGEANT – WALKER COUNTY FIRE RESCUE (opened 10/4/22)
Walker County Fire Rescue (WCFR) is conducting a Competitive Promotional Process (CPP) for the purpose of establishing a Promotional Eligibility Register (PER) for the rank/classification of Sergeant within WCFR.

TRANSIT DIRECTOR (opened 9/29/22)
This supervisor position is responsible for directing the daily operations of the Transit department to ensure an efficient transportation service for the citizens of Walker County.


TRANSIT DRIVER – Full and Part-time available (opened 9/29/22)
This position operates a non-CDL 10 passenger transit van on routes for the Transit department, providing excellent customer service to passengers. A thorough knowledge and compliance with all federal, state, city and county safety regulations and policies is mandatory. This position will also perform a number of skilled and unskilled tasks in the custodial care of the buses.


FLEET TECHNICIAN Level 2 (opened 9/6/22)
The Fleet Technician II is a second level position that provides general mechanical services to the county Fleet at the direction of the Shop Supervisor and Technician IV.  Fleet Technicians work a regular schedule, but will have to report for severe weather and other emergencies on occasion that could be outside of their normal work schedule.


E-911 COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER – DISPATCHER (opened 6/10/22)
Applicant must be able to receive and interpret information through telecommunications equipment, and verbally and accurately dispatch that information in a timely manner to the proper authority.


GENERAL LABORER (opened 3/15/22)
The General Laborer is an entry level position that provides manual labor support to team members of the Public Works Department.  The General Laborer’s work schedule is 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, but is required to report for inclement weather and other emergencies on occasion that could be outside of the normal work schedule.
