E-911 COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER – DISPATCHER (opened 1/20/23)
Applicant must be able to receive and interpret information through telecommunications equipment, and verbally and accurately dispatch that information in a timely manner to the proper authority.


GENERAL LABORER (opened 1/17/23)
The General Laborer is an entry level position that provides manual labor support to team members of the Public Works Department. The General Laborer’s work schedule is 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, but is required to report for inclement weather and other emergencies outside of the normal work schedule. Typical job duties include driving a truck that follows mowing crews, weedeating, shoveling, putting out road signs, and removing brush from roads.


CORRECTIONAL FACILITY NURSE (opened 1/5/23)
This position is responsible for providing medical care, assessment, and management of general medical-related services provided at our correctional facility; as well as, assist with maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.


PAYROLL & BENEFITS CLERK (opened 1/4/23)
The Payroll and Employee Benefits Clerk is responsible for all payroll functions and tasks which are essential to payroll processing and for complying with federal, state and local wage and hour standards in order to complete the payroll in a timely and accurate manner. In conjunction with the Human Resources Department, this position also manages employee benefits information in the accounting system.


SERGEANT – WALKER COUNTY FIRE RESCUE (opened 10/4/22)
Walker County Fire Rescue (WCFR) is conducting a Competitive Promotional Process (CPP) for the purpose of establishing a Promotional Eligibility Register (PER) for the rank/classification of Sergeant within WCFR.


FIREFIGHTER (opened 10/4/22)

TRANSIT DRIVER – Full and Part-time available (opened 9/29/22)
This position operates a non-CDL 10 passenger transit van on routes for the Transit department, providing excellent customer service to passengers. A thorough knowledge and compliance with all federal, state, city and county safety regulations and policies is mandatory. This position will also perform a number of skilled and unskilled tasks in the custodial care of the buses.
