MECHANIC: Level 2 (opened 4/6/20)
The Mechanic II is a second level position that provides basic mechanical and diagnostic services to County vehicles at the direction of the Mechanic IV and the Shop Supervisor. This position does minor engine and electrical repairs.


LANDFILL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Level 2 (opened 4/6/20)
Walker County has an immediate opening for an equipment operator at our landfill. This person must be able to operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to, compactors, excavators, crawler tractors and tractor-trailers.


LANDFILL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Level 3 (opened 4/6/20)
Walker County has an immediate opening for a lead operator at our landfill. This person serves in an oversight position at the Transfer Station, Brush and Tree Recycling Area, and Metals Recycling Operation. Applicant must be able to operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to, compactors, excavators, crawler tractors and tractor-trailers.


LEGAL & PUBLIC POLICY INTERN (opened 4/6/20)
Are you a college student looking for a real world experience? Spend your summer with us learning the mechanics of local government and practical relationships between Constitutional Officers in Georgia County Government.


KENNEL TECH: Level 1 (opened 3/6/20)
Do you love dogs and cats? The Walker County Animal Shelter is looking for someone passionate about working closely with a variety of animals who have assorted temperaments.


GROUNDS MAINTENANCE STAFF (opened 3/2/20)
The Grounds Maintenance Staff member helps manage the lawn care and landscaping around county buildings and property, as well as minor building repairs and improvements.


 

E-911 COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (DISPATCHER) (opened 2/10/20)
Walker County is currently seeking applications for an emergency dispatcher for our 911 center. Applicants must be able to receive and interpret information through telecommunications equipment, and verbally and accurately dispatch that information in a timely manner to the proper authority.


MECHANIC: Level 3(opened 1/22/20)
Walker County Government’s Maintenance and Shop Department currently has two openings for Mechanic III positions. This is a third level position that provides mechanical and diagnostic services to County vehicles at the direction of the Mechanic IV and the Shop Supervisor.


MECHANIC: Level 1(opened 1/9/2020)
Put your knowledge of vehicles to work for your community. This position services vehicles for law enforcement, public works, fire/rescue, transit, etc.


WALKER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE: DETENTION OFFICER
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office regularly accepts applications for the Detention Officer position.
