The following positions are currently available:

This position reports to the Clerk or Courts and provides customer service, data entry and processes filings in a legal setting.

This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Transit Department and ensuring an efficient transportation service for the citizens of Walker County.  Scheduling, route mapping and budgeting skills are needed.

The E-911 Telecommunications Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work and activities of the communication officers, but may also handle the responsibilities of a dispatcher.

Can you tell a complex story in a way that’s understandable and relatable to the general public? Walker County Government seeks a creative, self-motivated individual to join our Public Relations Department for the summer. We’re looking for someone with video production skills, a passion for government and interest in honing their communications skills.

This is a paid internship ($10 an hour) with a flexible schedule and up to 200 hours of work. You must be an undergraduate student, graduate student or recent college graduate to be considered for this paid internship. Volunteer Opportunity: Seeking qualified people to assist in the care and promotion of the Walker County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.

Walker County Emergency Services (WCES) is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. The starting pay for this position is $28,641 (based on a 53-hour work week). After completing an eight (8) week training course and obtaining State Certification and NPQ1, pay will increase to $31,728.
