The following positions are currently available:

FIRE/LIFE SAFETY EDUCATOR:
Walker County Emergency Services (WCES) is currently accepting applications for the position of Fire & Life Safety Educator. The hourly pay range is $13.40 to $14.40 (based on a 40-hour work week). Applications will be received until the position is filled.


FIRE INSPECTOR/INVESTIGATOR:
Walker County Emergency Services (WCES) is currently accepting applications for the position of Fire Inspector/Investigator. The hourly pay range is $15.80 to $19.38 (based on a 40-hour work week). Applications will be received until the position is filled.


PART-TIME CUSTODIAN
This position is responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy in county buildings. Vacuums and buffs floors, shampoos carpets, empties trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans. Typically works three days a week and starts at $10.50 an hour.


ANIMAL SHELTER VOLUNTEER:
Volunteer Opportunity: Seeking qualified people to assist in the care and promotion of the Walker County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.


FIREFIGHTER:
Walker County Emergency Services (WCES) is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. The starting pay for this position is $11.28 per hour.  Lateral hires with current AEMT, EMT-I or EMT-P will receive an additional 5% in pay.
