E-911 and Emergency Management

Emergency Management:

The Emergency Management team works to keep you safe during times of disaster or distress. Our Emergency Operations Center provides a centralized location for county and city services to coordinate operations during potential events.

Emergency Management also coordinates the opening of shelters with CERT and sends out alerts on our SirenGPS Community Alert System. Those interested must subscribe to this free service in order to receive community and weather related alerts. You can register online or download the mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple iTunes Store.

During severe weather, storm shelter locations may include:

• Walker County Civic Center (pre & post storm)
• West Armuchee Community Center (pre & post storm)
• Cedar Grove Community Center (pre & post storm)
• Walker County Ag Center (post storm)
• Local churches

These locations may/may not be activated during inclement weather. Click here to visit the Walker County Emergency Management Facebook page for a list of activated storm shelters. DO NOT visit one of these locations without first verifying that it has been activated, as you may be taking a risk getting out to visit a location that isn't open.

E-911:

Our E-911 Communications Officers serve on the front lines during times of need.

They work tirelessly to dispatch emergency services on wrecks, fires, medical calls and criminal investigations, among other needs.

CERT Team:
