Four new pickleball courts are now available for play at Walker Rocks Park on the Walker County Civic Center campus. These are the first pickleball courts in unincorporated Walker County.
The U.S. Department of the Interior-National Park Service (NPS) awarded a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant to Walker County to support the third phase of Walker Rocks Park. The grant helped the county construct the new pickleball courts and expand the inclusive playground at the park.
The county invested $110,000 in the four courts, which Signature Tennis Courts of Woodstock, Georgia, constructed. Later this spring, the county will resurface the walking trail at the park and then hold a grand opening for all of the improvements.
