Angie Teems took office as Walker County’s Chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners on January 1, 2025 after a successful career in the public and private sector.
Teems grew up in Rossville and is a gradute of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School, Chattanooga State, and Covenant College. Along with working for the law firms of Dale Buchanan & Associates and Leitner, Moffitt & Williams in Chattanooga, she served nearly 25 years in the legal division at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
Teems met her husband, Scott, while in college. After a long courtship, the two married and bought property in Chickamauga in 2001. Their daughter graduated from Gordon Lee Memorial High School in 2024 and is continuing her studies for a career in the nursing field.
The family enjoys outdoor activities and is very active at their farm on Old Bethel Road in Chickamauga.
