Environmental Health is a state agency that works directly under the Georgia Department of Public Health. This office has multiple responsibilities, including inspection and permitting of septic tanks throughout Walker County. Local food service establishments, including restaurants, schools, churches, etc. are inspected and permitted through this office too. Tourist accommodations and swimming pools are inspected and permitted by this office too.
