Ceremonial Document Request Form
If you would like to request a ceremonial document, such as a proclamation or congratulatory letter, please fill out the form below. Ceremonial documents are provided by the Walker County Board of Commissioners as a courtesy to honor and celebrate County residents or raise awareness about important issues that impact our citizens. Requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis and do not constitute an endorsement or legally binding document.
Ceremonial document requests will be considered for:
- Arts and cultural events
- Milestone birthdays (beginning at age 80 and then in increments of 5 years thereafter)
- Wedding anniversaries (beginning at 40 and then in increments of 5 years thereafter)
- Non-profit organizations
- Public awareness campaigns
- Special honors
Ceremonial document requests will NOT be considered for:
- Political matters
- People, events or organizations with no direct ties to Walker County
- Campaign or events contrary to County policies
- Retirements (with the exception of Walker County Government employees)
- Deceased individuals
- Individuals or organizations making multiple requests within the same calendar year
- Commercial purposes (such as the opening of a new business)
Requests should be made four to six weeks in advance of the requested date, and MUST include supporting documentation. The Walker County Public Relations Department will notify the requestor of the status of their request by email.
Ceremonial documents are provided at no cost.
Walker County reserves the right to edit or revise any draft language submitted.
