Georgia’s “Abandoned Mobile Home Act” allows landowners to get relief from having derelict mobile homes on their property. The law is codified at O.C.G.A. § 44-7-113, et seq.
Under this law, at the request of a property owner, a county agent will be authorized to inspect the mobile home in question. Upon inspection, the agent can classify the mobile home as either intact or derelict. If found intact, the property owner may file a lien for back rent on the home. If derelict, the property owner may dispose of the mobile home after notice and a hearing in magistrate court.
