The Walker County Board of Elections & Voter Registration is a county board that was created by an act of legislation by the Georgia General Assembly. The Board is made up of 5 appointed members. The Election Director, who is not a member of the Board, informs the Board of the day to day operation of the Elections Office and communicates important information handed down from the Georgia Secretary of State. Two members are appointed by the Democratic Party of Walker County, two members are appointed by the Republican Party of Walker County and the fifth member is appointed by the party (other than the two listed above) whose candidate received at least ten percent of the vote in the previous governor’s race.
