Walker County Commissioner Shannon Whitfield held a public hearing on two proposed ordinances. One would create a Special Events Permit to require event planners to coordinate with first responders. The other would require inoperable, uninsured vehicles to be stored behind a resident’s home and also require household garbage be placed in plastic or galvanized containers until collected.
Whitfield also signed a pre-application to seek grant dollars for an all-inclusive playground to be located on the Civic Center campus and accepted a $75,000 grant for an outdoor learning lab at Saddle Ridge School.
