UPDATED: Tax Office in Fairview Closed Until January 4; Assessors Office Closed Until November 30

Fairview, GA – The Walker County Tax Commissioner’s office in Fairview (2012 McFarland Gap Road) will remain closed until January 4, 2021 due to COVID-19.

The Rock Spring location (122 Highway 95) is open with limited staffing and public hours. Business can continue to be conducted in person from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by mail or online at walkercountytax.com.

Several COVID-19 safety protocols are in place for those visiting in person. Masks are required to enter the lobby, parents should refrain from bringing children inside and there may be an additional wait time as staff members are working in small teams to limit exposure.

Meanwhile, the Walker County Assessors office in Rock Spring will remain closed to the public until November 30th due to COVID-19. Phone calls (706-638-4823) and e-mails (assessorsoffice@walkerga.us) will be forwarded to the appropriate person.

The Assessors office is located on the second floor of the Walker County Local Government Services Building. The lower level of this building serves as the main office for the Walker County Tax Commissioner and the Walker County Planning Office.
