Burn Ban Rescinded

The Walker County Board of Commissioners approved a Resolution on December 14, 2023 to lift the burn ban in the county. The ban was issued last month as extremely dry conditions posed the threat of large, dangerous wildfires and created an environment for residential debris burns to escape and spread out of control.

No permit is required for hand-piled natural vegetation/yard debris, meaning leaf and limbs only, between October 1 and April 30. For more information on burning, visit: https://gatrees.org/burn-permits-and-notifications/
