Walker County Government is excited to announce the return of Mulch Madness!

Following a record year of tree and brush collections, our solid waste team spent the past two weeks processing material into mulch. The result is an exceptional supply of quality mulch that has exceeded our available storage capacity. To make room for continued facility operations, we are giving a portion away to the public, while supplies last.

Walker County residents are invited to visit the landfill next week (August 17-22) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to receive free mulch. Simply pull up to the scale house, tell a team member you are here for Mulch Madness, and they will direct you to where you can receive the free mulch. To ensure as many residents can take advantage of this opportunity as possible, this offer is limited to two loader scoops per household, while supplies last.

Whether you’re refreshing flower beds, landscaping your yard, or tackling a larger outdoor project, now is a great time to stock up on quality mulch at no cost.

The Walker County Landfill is located at 5120 N. Marble Top Road in Chickamauga.
