Governor Kemp announces the Shelter in Place order for most Georgians will expire at 11:59 p.m. tonight, however the Public Health State of Emergency will continue until June 12.
In addition, Kemp will sign an Executive Order requiring medically fragile and elderly Georgians to Shelter in Place through June 12 and issue new protocols for long-term care facilities.

- Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park has made us aware of the following operational changes:
- Effective today, the park is closed. This includes all units, roads, trails, parking areas, and picnic areas. The only exception is Reed’s Bridge Road and McFarland Gap Road will remain open to through traffic ONLY.
- “Public health is our top priority,” stated Superintendent Brad Bennett. “We are taking these steps in alignment with directives from local, state, and federal officials to protect the safety of visitors, staff, and park neighbors.”
- Park rangers will continue patrolling park areas in order to enforce public health orders, protect the park’s valuable cultural and natural resources, and respond to emergencies.

According to the Department of Public Health, these individuals would be isolated either in the hospital or at home (depending on how sick they are) until they are better and no longer pose a risk of infecting others.
