We will have about 200 same day COVID-19 vaccination appointments available tomorrow, March 11th for eligible Georgia residents. Please call the hotline at 706-620-0887 or 706-670-1234 tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. to get on the list to get vaccinated.

Governor Kemp also announced changes today to the criteria for COVID-19 vaccine eligibility. Effective Monday, March 15th, adults in Georgia 55 and older AND those with high risk conditions as defined by the CDC (asthma, cancer, kidney or cardiac disease, etc.) will be eligible.

The Walker County COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline will start scheduling residents in the expanded criteria group on Monday.

Walker County just received a large shipment of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine from the state to help us clear out the backlog of residents who had called the county’s hotline to get on the list to be vaccinated.  Vaccinations are done for today, but we are still scheduling appointments for eligible Georgia residents for Wednesday. Please call the Walker County COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline at 706-620-0887 to get on the list if you are eligible. The hotline closes at 5:00 p.m. today and will reopen tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.

The state expects to receive 83,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine next week and they will be used to vaccinate teachers following the expansion of eligibility on March 8th. A new mass vaccination site will also be launched in Cartersville (Lakepoint Sports) on March 17th.
