Did you know, Walker County provides a public transportation service? On any given weekday, Walker County Transit makes dozens of trips taking residents to the grocery, doctor’s office or other appointments.

The cost is just $4 each direction and wheelchair accommodations are provided.

Even though our Transit buses provide curbside service, this is a public transportation service. So, you must be able to get to and from the bus on your own and you will encounter other riders during your trip, so there may be other stops before your destination.

Transit operates Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Reservations must be made at least a day in advance by calling (706) 375-0803.
