Walker County Animal Control has a new number. Animal Control responds to reports of stray animals, bite cases, aggressive animals, etc. and is different than the Animal Shelter, where animals are housed and cared for until reclaimed by their owners, adopted or rescued.

Animal Control dispatch can now be contacted directly at 706-924-0053 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  After hours and weekends, 911 is available if an officer is needed to respond to an emergency, such as sick or injured animals, animals in immediate danger, aggressive animals, dog bites that are actively at large, and law enforcement assistance.
