Prior to the Regular Meeting, a Public Hearing was held on a proposed amendment to the County's Alcohol Ordinance. The amendment would make Walker County more business friendly by removing distance requirement that go above and beyond state requirements.

Walker County's Clean & Lien program entered a new phase in December. Following months of court proceedings, a judge signed an order giving the county the authority to remove six dilapidated structures that are unsafe, unsanitary and uninhabitable.
