Commissioner Shannon Whitfield signed a resolution to set the 2020 millage rate. The lower rate of 9.287 mills in the unincorporated areas represents a 5.45% decrease in county taxes. Also, a moratorium on tiny homes and container cargo homes was enacted for 180 days.

Commissioner Meeting Audio – 3-26-20
This was an emergency meeting due to COVID-19. Along with answering questions about the coronavirus, Commissioner Shannon Whitfield signed two resolutions waiving certain penalties and interest associated with past due personal property and hotel-motel taxes. The waiver is good through July 31st. The deadline to apply for a 2020 business license without being penalized was also been extended to July 31st.
